Service Enhancements
The Aboriginal Medical Service Western Sydney (AMSWS) will retain all of its existing primary health care services over the coming three years.
In addition, AMSWS intends to enhance the quality and scope of a number of these services, particularly in the areas of:
- Dental health
- Child and maternal health
- Social and emotional wellbeing
New Services
AMSWS has identified a number of areas of service need based on feedback from clients and the community, and from analysis of service demands that have not yet been met. These include:
- Aged care
- Youth services
- Family health
In addition, AMSWS wants to identify options for providing better client services in the following communities:
- Blue Mountains
- Penrith
- Hawkesbury
- Blacktown
- Fairfield
AMSWS anticipates that the capacity of its existing premises at Mt Druitt will become inadequate during the coming years. Accordingly, the Board wants to:
- Transition to new premises.
- Reallocate usage of the existing Mt Druitt premises.
- Capture key value-adding and income-generating parts of the value chain for reinvestment into primary health care service delivery.
